Opening doors - how to collaborate with teachers

Collaboration is the essential next step if you aspire to influence curriculum and enhance educational outcomes in your school.  Librarian’s core competencies are different to a classroom teacher’s – research skills, academic honesty, AI & internet navigation, and so on.

Collaboration in the classroom improves your relationship with students as they directly experience how librarians supports learning and achievement.  It pulls students to your library as they seek out your expertise, which places the library at the center of academic culture in your school.

However, teachers are often reluctant to change what they are doing if they feel it is working fine.  This workshop covers exactly that issue, how to gain teacher trust and grow a culture of collaboration at your school.
